Sardar Nirmal Singh Raipuri
A
well - known advocate of world peace, communal harmony and secularism he is
also a writer, poet and social worker and holds important positions in Sikh
Citizens Council and Vishwakarma Ramgarhia Club, among others. His Urdu and
Punjabi poetry is mainly devoted to world peace and human brotherhood. His
masterpieces 'Be Barg Shaakh' (Urdu) and 'Is Mitti Nu Sirlekh Bana'
(Punjabi) have earned widespread acclaim in literary circles.
Nirmal Singh Raipuri actively participated in Third World
Punjabi Conference at Bangkok and was the key figure at International
Ramgarhia Convention. His recent acts of charity include the presentation of
a cheque of Rs 1,05,000 to the Delhi Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the
victims of Tsunami. He renders financial and social support, for marriage
arrangements, to the poor and needy families.
